Word Duel for iMessage · Effective October 6, 2026
In short: Word Duel doesn't collect your data. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and the app never sends anything to us.
What stays on your device
Word Duel saves a few things on your iPhone or iPad so the app works: the name you enter under Playing as, games you're partway through (so you can pick up where you left off) and your finished results. This stays on your device. Deleting the app removes it.
What goes into a game message
When you send a game, the message carries what your friends need to play and keep score:
- which game it is and the puzzle number that rebuilds the same puzzle on their device;
- for each player: the name they entered, their time, whether they finished, and their guesses or route;
- an anonymous ID that Messages gives each person in that conversation, so the scoreboard knows which result is whose.
These messages travel through Apple's Messages service to the people in your conversation, like any other message. Apple's handling of messages is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. We can't see your messages or results.
Children
Word Duel doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
